We
have a long standing relationship with the Salvation Army
Mission here in Fargo. It began when the Adult Sunday School
class began serving Christmas morning breakfast in 1993. Many
families in our church have made this act of sharing and service
part of their annual Christmas tradition. Since then we have
expanded our relationship to include monthly service on the third
Saturday of each month, regular financial support, and serving on
Thanksgiving Day as well.
Teen Moms
Teen Moms, is a ministry
of the Red River Valley Chapter of Youth for Christ. This mission is
a caring and pragmatic response to the very difficult problems that
arise in connection with unplanned pregnancies. This mission has
caught the imagination of many of our members some of whom have
served as Mentor Moms to young single mothers. We frequently
invite the program director, Linda Bass, to come and update us on
her work. We also support the program with regular financial
gifts and special activities such as the Presbyterian Women's Mother
Daughter Luncheon and the PW Afternoon Circle Mission which both
raise funds and provide needed gifts of household and childcare
essentials.
